Meet Mrs. Hill

Thank you for visiting our classroom blog.

I currently teach grade 2/3 at Claude E. Garton School, in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  Although this will be my seventh year at teaching at Claude, I am a former Claude Garton student and I started my teaching career doing long term occasional work at Claude in 1998, so I am thrilled to be working with the staff and students here.

I was born and raised in Thunder Bay and find it very rewarding to be employed in my home town. I attended French Immersion from kindergarten to O.A.C. but decided to Major in English at Lakehead University. I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor with Thunder Bay Aquatics for seven years before becoming a full time school teacher. I give credit to my family, friends, husband, children, colleagues, students and special teachers along the way for supporting me though my career goals and achievements.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my children and extended  family, travelling, SCUBA diving, Sea-Dooing, swimming, walking, doing crafts, drawing, painting, listening to music, reading, and gardening.

  1. Hi! I got Minecraft stuffies. One is an Enderman and one is a Creeper.
I miss school. I’m at Gull Bay. I’m staying at my auntie’s with my mom, me, and my brother, Jordin.

  2. I like school!
I hope that I can be in the same class again next year.
I also hope that we could go to the winter carnival at Old Fort William 🙂 he he
