The 23rd Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade sponsored by Beggin’ is this Saturday, Oct 25th from Noon to 3 p.m. in New York.  I’ll be sure to post new photos of the costumes but in the meantime enjoy this article from a previous parade year.

Bark For Life is a fun walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society.  Bark For Life is a fundraising event that will be supported through individual donations collected by registered event participants and their dog friends.

Dress your dog in their sparkly or spookiest Halloween costume and join us in the pet parade around Boulevard Lake- there will be prizes for the best dressed pooch!

“Turkey in the Straws” is a tricky Thanksgiving holiday game that’s a lot of fun to play with family!

What You’ll Need:

Large, empty margarine tub

Drinking straws

Plastic cup

Lay several drinking straws crosswise on the margarine tub. Now balance a cup, turned upside down, on the straws.

Each player takes a turn removing 1 straw at a time. Whoever pulls the straw that makes the cup fall down is the “turkey.”

He or she must gobble out loud!

Practice this game by yourself — you won’t be the turkey next time you play with friends!
